In the massive cleaning of my mother’s apartment we found all sorts of treasures from our childhood. One of the most hysterical things we found were the records we had as kids. From Cepillín, Menudo, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Jones to my favorite Donna Summer. My parents had a wide range of records and we were free to listen to anything we wanted.

I must have been 6 or 7 years old when I learned how to use this massive record player. I played my favorite record - Bad Girls by Donna Summer, over and over. Probably while my sister and I played ”Barbies” in the living room or we danced around for mom.

Bad Girls | Donna Summer

I remember loving this album cover because it was pink and blue. My favorite song…Bad Girls of course. I liked the “Beep, beep, uh, uh” part of the song the best. I remember is dancing and singing only the chorus part:

“Bad girls
Talking about the sad girls
Sad girls
Talking about bad girls, yeah.”

Now it just cracks me up to think of 7-year-old me loving this song completely oblivious to the lyrics . Seeing this album just cracked me up. Then I turned the album around to see the other songs listed and laughed even louder when I saw my other favorite song, Hot Stuff.

I was a funny child with a love for music! :)
