That’s right I went to my Weight Watchers meeting the day after Christmas! :)

In fact at our Wednesday night meeting there were 20+ people in attendance. Our leader said only 7 people had come into the center during the whole day. That’s pretty awesome…the 5:30 crew are a committed bunch. :)

To be honest I was expecting a loss but I gained 0.4, which is nothing but it still bummed me out. I was quiet during the meeting because I was trying figure out why this happened. It’s not even half a pound but it was really bugging me. I know the number on the scale is not always an accurate reflection of a whole week. The part that is stressful is that I “feel” smaller and my clothes are looser but the scale says there is a gain. I hate that feeling! It makes you feel like you’re crazy!

So on the train ride home I jotted down a few reasons why I am simply maintaining for the last month. I decided really take ownership of what I was doing and start to change it. Here are the reasons why I am not losing weight:

  1. Not following the program as designed.
  2. Not exercising
  3. Giving into holiday cravings
  4. Hormone issue I need to follow-up with doctor
  5. Not getting enough sleep

The great thing is that for all reasons (except maybe#4), I can change right now. Once I took ownership of my actions it became easier to process. A 0.4 gain the week of Christmas is not worth obsessing about when it could have been so much worse.

Already we are making changes as a family. Starting with changing our Christmas Eve dinner because my mom was diagnosed with pre-diabetes. The urgency for us, as a family, to eat cleaner is now even higher. W really have no choice and we will all benefit from eating healthier.

I am also happy to say that my New Year’s Day will be kicking off with some exercise. I won an entry to the NYC Commitment Day Race as part of the #startclean2013 giveaway! :) My sister registered for the race as well, so we will run/walk it! So excited to start off the new year this way! :)

Only good things to come in 2013!
